INFO:
Welcome back to the Melton City Council Learning Directory YouTube Channel! Earlier this year, parents in Melton submitted questions about their child’s sexual development. Informed by this, Women's Health West (WHW) developed a four-part podcast series which provides information about a range of topics around sexuality. From puberty, to relationships and how to navigate those tricky topics like masturbation and porn – these conversations are there to help parents feel more comfortable and confident supporting children and young people with their sexual development. Hosted by sexual and reproductive health specialists, Sarah and Susan – each podcast features a guest speaker from WHW adding their thoughts and insights to the conversation. The second episode of the series is for those wondering how and what to talk to children and young people about when it comes to sex. This discussion focuses on how to support and provide young people with information that helps them make informed decisions for themselves and provides parents with some things to consider as they enter into these conversations, which many are not used to having! Informed by questions submitted by parents in Melton, sexual and reproductive health experts will discuss gender, changes during puberty, where babies come from and at what age to start talking to children about sex. Women’s Health West (WHW) is located in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne.
